Were you ever "all in"?
by nonamegiven infor those of us here who are xjw's for varying degrees (df's, ds'd or just faded away {the greatest feat of all}) looking back to your years as an active jw, were you ever 100% mentally?
i thought i was but looking back when i was a ms and being groomed for elder i was very zealous but still didn't like field service but loved helping out.
now i look back i see i was just looking for acceptance from other, not serving god.. i would elaborate but i plan on posting "my story" soon.. how about you?.

Hi Nonamegiven,
I too was raised a Witness, ( everytime I hear that term, it reminds me of Chickens in a Coop or Beef Cattle eating away getting fatter and fatter unknowingly getting ready for their slaughter) but I was never really all the way in. I tried, don't get me wrong, I just had too many questions left unanswered. even today when family asked why I'm inactive, my simple yet most accurate response is, "I was never really good at it". I finally got tired of being a hypocrite, leading a double life like so many jw's currently do (Man, could I tell some stories!), and began my "fading"
Thank God for the mirror's in my house, otherwise, moment's of sadness, loneliness and truly missing my family would of brought me back .I have to be honest with myself, even if my old Religion can't or won't.
I look forward to you telling your story, it feels real good to tell it. I have experienced nothing but love from this board when I opened up what was once only private to me.
Welcome, Welcome..

Waste Management would of been a more appropiate business to insert these into, where better than the trash bill?

This discussion board is just the medicine I needed
by Backed away ina big thank you to those who created this board and for all the amazing people who post here.. truth be told (no pun intended) i have seen other religious boards out there but never felt compelled to join since i didn't feel qualified to speak one way or the other regarding their beliefs.
this board is another story.
i was raised as a witness but never thought so many people all over the world had a similiar past as i did.

Thank you everyone for the open arms of welcome. you really know how to touch a person who previously only knew the sting of being a ex-jw.
AudeSapere, thank you for the invite this weekend. darn my previous plans! or you could of counted me in. I could use a margarita and some jw laughs. next time hopefully. i'm in the OC so Hacienda Hgts isn't a problem in fact that area was my old stomping grounds.
I'm looking forward to getting past this "Newbie" thing and diving in to other subjects ( don't get me wrong the lovefest I'm feeling is great!)
Thanks again, it's off to work, what's the saying? "no rest for the wicked"...

What percentage of those disfellowshipped get reinstated?
by jwfacts ini remember reading somewhere that only 1/3 of people disfellowshipped get reinstated, but can't remember where.
it may have been one of franz's books, or even a watchtower.
can anyone remember if such a figure has been given, and what it was?.

One is too many, I was re instated once and thought things would change for me but I experienced a change in my friends like I was marked or something. being disfellowshipped was the worst and eventually the best thing that ever happened to me. who knows, I might still be doing time, narrow minded and blind to the real "truth".
I'm now faded, like a good pair of old jeans.

JH,
I never went door to door around lunch or dinner time or knew anyone who did.
Maybe it's the new Jehovah's Witness diet? you see them coming and up comes your food, or there goes your appetite!

Who needs paradise? Legolas you live there already.
Just a little envious here in smoggy, crowded overpriced Southern California.
